Interest Bearing Treasury Notes of the Civil War Era

Phil Lockwood

I enjoy collecting currency from the Civil War era. Interest bearing notes from the time are very hard to come by but I have been able to collect some of them. There are four different types of Civil War interest bearing notes. Three Year Notes issued in 1861 and again in 1864 and 1865. Two Year Notes issued only in 1863. One Year Notes were issued only in 1864. Compound Interest Treasury Notes were issued in1864 and 1865.

These notes are beautifully engraved and very seldom seen - I hope you enjoy viewing them!
